About us:  This web site is designed as a focal point to begin your research on the topics of global warming, climate change and sustainability.  Here you will find current comments and reports, related scientific information, public and government assessments, discussions of planning and policy; and ideas that deal with the mitigation, resilience and adaptation to climate change. Under "FEATURES" you will find topic headlines, links, videos, and formal academic education programs.

Good science is based upon skepticism.  I encourage you to seek proof and consilience with other science disciplines and sources.  Most of all enjoy the quest. Form your own opinions on credible and reproducible data, not heresay or the utterances of pundits without scientific credentials.

About me:  My name is W. Douglas Smith.  I'm an environmental scientist, environmental diplomat, explorer and educator.  As a Senior Compliance Investigator in the U.S. EPA, I conducted inspections and investigations, developed protocols and training materials for EPA, the World Bank Institute, and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). From 1972 through 2005 I was the owner/operator of an adventure travel company focused on the concept of eco-trekking in the Himalayas and around the world.
